Happy Wednesday, my darlings! Another new section for Style Pledge to kick off the new year and my new life! While Style Pledge will always focus on affordable fashion, it is only normal for the blog to evolve as my life changes. I am about to become a mom for the first time, and this has really been a great opportunity to learn more about my style, what I really like to wear and even learning that my pregnancy style was much different that I would have anticipated.
In the beginning, I was very intimidated by a changing body. But very soon I switch gears and felt like I really wanted to embrace the new curves and, not only that, but I wanted to flaunt them. My body was doing a very powerful thing and I was proud (still am) to show it off. This made me decide to create a community of women sharing their style through pregnancy and later as busy moms. For the longest time, we have heard things “I am a mom; I don’t have time to take care of myself”, and I want to find a stress-free way to be able to look exactly how I want and still give my child all the attention that he will need. I think that we can have it all, and I want to invite you to join me!
For that purpose, I have created the hashtag #FabMamaStyle – which I hope will become our very own style archives so we can just go there and pull ideas from each other. This is my 1st #FabMamaStyle look, and it could not be easier.
I have lived in these maternity jeans since my 7th month, and they are oh-so-comfy. They really hold the belly, and they almost feel like leggings. They are the only maternity jeans I bought, and they have really done the trick for me, since I have not felt like wearing pants a whole lot during the pregnancy. The top is only $12.99 and non-maternity. I just went a size up, because the belly is no joke at this point…LOL. I totally recommend it if you have been looking for a choker top. It looks super chic on, and it is a total steal! My boots are super old, but I have found a similar pair that are affordable and have great reviews. Dark brown boots are so versatile, so make sure to check the alternative that I found for you because you will wear them non-stop.
